You can wash anything in a washing machine. Except suede, oops. And loads of other things no doubt.

Just wash it in the shower with water and a bit of detergent, hang dry.

I may just put the strap inside so it doesn't smash the washing machine to pieces. Doesn't need to be cleaned inside particularly and its meant to be waterproof. Maybe I should test by putting a newspaper inside and see if it stays dry!

Personally...i'd wash the outside with the rough side of a dish sponge with some warm soapy water...not too much soap....then wipe off with clean water...give a really good shake, then allow to drip dry outside...if the inside is dirty....pull the liner outside the bag and clean with kitchen surface cleaner and a cloth.
The waterproof coating on the back of the cordura isn't particularly tough.

Shower works well... Although you have to explain why you're naked in the bathroom with your bag if anyone were to catch you. Not that it's happened to me, you understand. It was someone I know, right?

A related question (might as well keep them all in the same place): how do you stop your gloves from stinking when you've had them a few years? I put on some clean ones last night, but they must have been building up the sweat for ages, because they smelt revolting as soon as they got warmed up, and my hands even smelt a bit funny after my shower!
