Buying double toe straps

Breaking the top off one of my single strap traps this morning has facilitated an increased importance in finding a set of double straps. Where can I get them from that isn't Cavendish or Holloway cycles or Brick Lane Bikes, who are all out of stock?

Also, which are the favoured brands or types?

If you're quick I can pop into BC for you to ask. I can see BC from my desk, which can be an expensive mistake.

What SP said, they had some last week... My Fit-A straps were £45 (ouch!) from there, they've got some OTT super-pro MKS jobs atm that are £90 a pair... Madness! Not a cheap business...

When you think about how much good clipless pedals and the shoes to go with em cost, i think £45 for double straps is a pretty good deal.

Is that just for the straps itself then? Do you need to buy the cage part separately?

So the MKS seem to be the favourite then?

And who's Brian Kwan?

Thanks for the tips!

Yeah but people wear trainers all the time, id be surprised if someone bought a pair of trainers to exclusivly ride their bike in!

Briankwan is a kit peddling forumenger on here.

clips are generally MKS, available separately in steel or (alu) alloy and several sizes. I think they're about £8?

i was in cavendish cycles last week and they are utterly replete with achingly hip japanese parts including MKS sylvan tracks in various spangly colours and matching clips. First time i've seen lower-end MKS pedals in colours- they're usually reserved for the expensive NJS versions (which are beautiful and have immaculate bearings). i'm too boring for colour but they might be worth a look.

MKS and toshi are both great. quality wise there's probably not much in it.

I buy trainers specific for BMX and use them for Polo, mountain biking and oddly enough BMXing.

In fact I found a pair of trainers that I absolutely loved 1 1/2 years ago. Bought another 3 pairs, of which I'm currently down to the last pair.

In looking for some replacements I've found a shop who still have the same trainers in my size so I'm buying another 4 pairs.

So actually, people do buy trainers specific to ride in.
I am a cunt though...

Fair enough. Do you take them off and put them in your bag when your not riding your bike though? Thats what i was kinda trying to make the point about with clipless shoes. They have one specific use and are pretty useless for anything else whereas trainers can be used for almost anything.

If I'm not riding a bike I'm at home or at work wearing different shoes so techincally yes?

Scott even made me a set of none adjustable straps for my polo bike which were measured exactly to fit the trainers I wear when I'm not riding time atacs.

Sorry.

To be fair I have a very limited range of trainers that I can actually buy as most companies do not makes completely vegan trainers (Converse did but I won't buy them now that the company was baught out.)

It's a case of find something that works and stick with it.

Try the macbeth vegan ones. They're pretty comfortable to ride in.

Thanks for the advice team - got some Fujitoshi's on order and I'll try and hustle up some black cages to go with them. Fashion over functionality.
