Paul component/ Nitto bars

[SIZE=2]Has anyone got any experience of using paul component brake levers and nitto bars?
I have a set of nitto risers and also bullhorns and am looking to get some new brakes. As far as I can see the only options which might fit from paul components are:

1. the cross lever - 26mm diameter
2. the e lever - 23.8mm diameter

As a starter I am not too sure of the sizes of the nitto bars (and will measure them later tonight) but... I think the clamp area of the nitto bars is 26mm so the cross lever should fit easily. The grip area is, I think, 25.4 so can you shim it? (I have never done this with brakes but if you can do it with a stem and bar I presume you can do it with brakes.

The e lever seems to fit nitto bars from various posts I have seen but I am not sure why if it is a 23.8 diameter? Do you just get a longer screw? Or are nitto bars actually more like 23.8 diameter

Any advice to a very lost person gratefully received!
Tom

I have an e-lever on a Nitto RB-018-HT Bullhorn Handlebar. It did take quite some persuasion and a lot of elbow grease and swearing. A few scratches, but have tape on the bars so no worries there.

tom.
I've got the noodle bars (26.0mm shim) and I got my e-lever on. The trick was spraying everything with WD40 and lots of wiggling.

I had the same issue with the Nitto bullhorn bars. The e-lever does fit after a bit of effort and a bit of spray, but you do get a few scratches. The brake also doesn't sit right next to the stem.

Not sure of the size of Nitto risers, but the e-lever goes on easier to the Nitto drops and sits right next to the stem.

The cross-lever needs a shim to fit on the grip area of both the drop and bullhorn bars, but sits just right next to the stem on a bullhorn.

guys - thanks a lot for all the tips. Looks like I might give the cross levers a try as I want to wedge them right up by the stem.

Glad to hear some others are using them. Now just to order them and take the painful financial hit!
