Cyclocross race at the Herne Hill Velodrome tomorrow!

It's tomorrow, and you don't need to be member of a club or British Cycling, also if you don't have a cross bike it's fine too, you can go on a MTB!

£6 to enter

No excuses! ;)

Might do, brakes and gears makes the bike too heavy!!

I've been looking to get into some cyclocross since my Crosscheck arrived in the post, fitness might be a bit off at the moment but still....
Any advice on tyres required? I'm guessing it will be wet and muddy so something with knobs?

People seems to be quite serious about choice of tyres, seems like 30-32mm are most popular, also a lot of riders use tubs so you can run with low pressure...

I have never done a cross before, so just got the first tyres available, Maxxis Locust, 35mm...

Unless the ground is really sloppy 35's are best...more comfortable.
32's are better for really muddy conditions.

No you would be better of putting some 25cc on that and using it as aunny day commuter, don't want to get such a nice looking bike dirty.

I've been away and now I'm back! Gonna race next week on my mountain bike to try and get some fitness for my adventure race at the end of the month. A month off the bike means that I'm not feeling very ready at the moment!

Well that hurt, lots. Could not believe how fast some of those guys go even the little kids, and how slowly some others take the technical section.
My tally:
Two crashes, some bruises including one worryingly close to the old boy.
3 and a bit laps.
Retirement due to loose crank arm.
Looks like I need some new cranks now and a lot more fitness.
Bring on next week.

How much are those posts? Was it one of those combined saddle/post jobbies?
