Bits for Steamroller build

I just bought Cake's lovely Steamroller frame, which came with a headset, BB and stem. My idea is to build it up into a full bike using bits sourced exclusively from members of the forum, so that like a recipient of a transplanted organ I can feel an intangible spiritual connectedness with all of you. My only constraint on the bits is that, with the exception of the tyres, I would like them to be silver, shiny silver if possible.

I have a pair of serviceable pedals, a saddle, and an 18t EAI fixed cog, so in no particular order, what I need is:

- Cranks
- Chainring to go with Cranks
- Wheels (rims, spokes, hubs separately will do)
- Tyres n Tubes
- Chain
- Seatpost
- Front brake (brake, cable, levers, pads)
- Bars (pref risers)
- Bar grips

My budget for the build is £250. I'm not in a desperate hurry, so I'll give this experiment time to succeed - and I'll post pics of the build as it progresses.

I have a new in the box, high polished shiny shiny front suzue track hub.

Its high flange with no cut-outs so you can really see the shinyness

Was gonna build it up to match my rear wheel, but Im thinking of using this red hub I have instead?

After £25 posted for it. Which is a loss on what I got it for, AND ill give you some chaintugs as a freebie.

I also have a couple boxes of spokes but itll probably be better for you to buy local to save on postage?

284 and 271 anyway.

I'm thinking that at least £150 is going to go on the wheels anyway, so if I can get another hub and some rims for £125 I'll be ok. But you're right, my budget may be at risk if this all takes off.

blow the budget. thats my advice. and for seconds, try wee scott. he had a 50mm silver thomson stem and a 27.2mm silver thomson in line seat post. i wanted but couldn't afford. much like that frame you now own.... how about i live my dreams through you and you build it up with bits i couldnt buy?
