| | Anyone familiar with dynohub internals? I bought an old bike specifically for the dynohub, the wheel and hub is pretty rusty and a little stiff. Id like to take the whole thing and strip it down, possible send the hub shell for powdercoating, before cleaning it, packing it up with new bearings & grease and rebuilding. Write on the front it says, DO NOT REMOVE MAGNET, on what looks like the large circular magnet. But that is what I would like to do! Can anyone advise, if I open it up will a whole mess of tiny parts fall out? |

| | which one is it? if its an old sturmey archer check this thread for info, there are some links in the thread which may help... http://www.cyclingforums.com/archive.../t-278665.html do not take the stator out of the magnet or it will be permanently demagnetized... instantaneously. |

| | For Sturmey Archer stuff you need to see Tony Hadland's site - he has repair instructions for most of the common models including Dynohubs. http://www.hadland.me.uk/samaintind.htm |
