| | I have miche bbs on two bikes. On one i used some teflon tape to ensure snugness after one side unscrewed a few times. No problems since. Learning how to service a bike should not equate to using your credit card whenever something goes wrong. That's just mindless consumerism. |

| | My Mickey BB had to be beaten like a chav on a Friday night to get it undone. The bearing is, however, a sack of spanners. 600 miles on a modern sealed BB is frankly pathetic. I'm led to believe they're out of the same Kinex pot as the CampagNOlo, so I'm not keen on trying them either. |

| | Hmmm, my Miche BB has just started to unscrew itself, as did its predecessor, only about a month ago. One was fitted by me, one by someone else, so I can't blame the mechanic. The one on my Surly (RIP) was fine for over a year. Is there any chance it could be something to do with the frame? |

| | try ptfe tape (30p or so from a plumbers merchant). about 5-10 turns on the threads, in the opposite direction to the threading. So, if you're looking at the bb shell frm the side of the bike and gonna turn the bb cup clockwise to tighten it, put ptfe tape on it anticlockwise. you still need to grease the bb. |
