Should read Cycling Clubs in Brasil

I suppose this is a very wild shot in the dark, i guess maybe Roberto can help, maybe! I am moving to Brasil in November, and am looking for a BMX club, a road club and a velodrome!
Now i know there is velodrome in the city i am moving too(Curitiba), but any other help would be great.

hi - I'm thinking of moving / spending some time abroad with work and one of the options is Brazil, Sao Paulo or Curitiba. I'm weighing up the pros and cons now against other locations. Can you speak the lingo? What kind of industry will you be working in if you don't mind me asking?

Hi jonhings, no i don't speak Portugese my reason for moving is because my fiancee is there and my baby is due in November, so i am moving there to bring up my son!
I work for the second biggest spirit company in the world, and am involved in research and history of spirits so i will be continuing my research work there!
After that, it is a 1 year retainer, then it will be doing my own thing, probably some form of cafe!

i used to live in rio. then i portugal. i am argentinian but my husband and son and friends are all brazilian .
the problem is that all these sites are in portuguese. anyway you will learn pretty soon..

i beemn to curitiba for a climbing competition. that was my sport back then. it is a really nice city, quite small but quite sophisticated

Hi there, I actually live in Brazil at the moment, but in São Paulo. Yes, there is a velodrome in Curitiba (one of the three that exist in Brazil) as it's the "home" of Brazil's track cyclists.
I don't know much about Curitiba, but I'm sure Gabriel Nogueira, owner of http://rodafixa.blogspot.com (a fixed gear blog) in Curitiba, will be thrilled to be contacted. He is one of us (like myself) UK-Brazil roamers, so yes he rides fixed and speaks english.
The cycling scene here in Brazil is confined only to Road, MTB and BMX so most never heard of fixed gear bikes before, so be sure to bring your gear over, as you won't find much around here.

Well Road and MTB related gear you'll find... It's just really hard to find any Fixed/Track/Vintage related stuff, like quill stems, pista bars, pista hubs, fixed cogs, tubulars, toe clips, etc... But if spare road gear is what you need, you'll be fine... but the range is quite limited, even in the best shops.

cool, i am more worried about the road stuff! i can see little going wong with my fixed gear, thas why i have it!
