Faulty tube?

ok.. so, before im lynched for a stupid question... ive never seen a tube like this before!

was fixing a puncture yesterday, put in a new tube, pumped it up.... and woke up to it flat.

now.. just on that bulge, there is a small tear.... ive checked the tire and cant find anything, SO... is this just a shitty faulty tube? cos its a bloody strange shape.

looks like you pinched it to me. hence the herniated bulge. tube not seated in the rim properly, happens to all of us.

it doesn't look good. i'd stick a new one in there, and make sure the tube isn't pinched between the rim and the edge of the tyre. often when this happens it goes off with an almighty bang, it happened in my flat and i damn near shit myself, i thought al-qaeida had come to get me.

The shape isn't abnormal. Tubes are often like that, especially repaired ones when the patch holds the tube tighter in one spot. Most likely a pinch flat as others said. Double check your tyre inside for anything. Fine bits of glass or wire could also cause this.

..and a tiny bit (teaspoon) of oil/butter on the inner side of the tyre should prevent further pinches...always works for me

That means I'm tighter than a duck's arse.

I returned a bunch of duff tubes to CONdor and got my money back.
