| | Just bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=300241598882 Slight impulse buy, but I was looking for good tubing..columbus SL is pretty good right? Looks like it's got fairly angular geometry. Do you think i'll find it easy getting bits for this? and have I missed anything major? Cheers |

| | Nice frame. What type of stem do you have? You need to choose threaded or threadless forks to match your stem, then go from there. Make sure the steering tube is long enough for the frame, more is good. You will need to take out the cups from the headtube before you fit your new headset. |

| | I have a columbus cromor frame, weighs a ton. Buts its super stiff and makes for a 'trackier' ride. Still lighter than a off the peg charge plug/bowery though when built up. Found a good chart: http://equusbicycle.com/bike/columbus/columbuschart.htm oh, and if you are buying threaded forks for your frame, try to get the exact size necessary. As if its too long you will have to get the steerer sawn off, which may leave you with not enough thread to fit headset. |

They suggest 1.9 for the frame set, add lugs, BB shell, dropouts, brave ons and paint to that. If you want a light frame buy aluminium or carbon, if you want a light bike, save weight on wheels, tires, saddle, bars, you can easy save a kilo or 2 on those bits. Can't see why it wouldn't be sl, check which tubes are butted and double butted then match it up if it matter to you that much Last edited by gizmond; 19th August 2008 at 15:52.. | |
