bearings. pah! i got a 10 mm hardend steel rod and i am going to mount in a sqare block turned down and then add a big ass padlock, maybe.

well. im not an engineer.. but is the steel ur using the same stuff found in a kyrpoinite or the like? and those welds dont look as sturdy as a smooth curve?

cos then it doesnt matter how strong the steel is, only how strong the welds are

Also is it hardened at all? Regular mild steel is piss easy to saw through.

What locking mechanism are you using, perhaps it wouldve been cheaper to get an existing lock and shortened the bar?

Just some thoughts, making stuff is cool.

yes hardend silver steel also at work we got a heat treatin oven hehe 20 mins gas mark 50000
