| | what about a cull of members that have joined but not posted in the last 6 months? I agree we've all been guilty of disemboweling a first poster, usually we regret it afterwards, but that doesn't mean we should stop new members joining - or posting obvious questions. As far as I'm concerned, they should lurk for a while to learn the ettiquette. Any first poster gets one patient response to a question that has been answered already and they could have searched for. Then they get a direct response: "use the search". After that it's open season. |

| | Before I went fixed, I asked a lot of stupid questions on the C+ forum, I got some good recommendations, but I narrowed down my choice of bikes before I asked the questions. Then I got fed up with reading some brain numbing arguments about RLJ and helmet use and left. I had no idea this forum existed and as soon as I started searching the net for more specialist items, hubs, rims, nitto etc etc, a lot of the hits on google came up as lfgss. Took me a while to understand the vibe of the forum, but its pretty damn cool as people actually get out and ride and talk shit/bikes over beers, which is quite unique. |

| | If this new initiative takes care of lazy newcomers, then what do we go about about restoring the reputation of this forum? I see other forums referring to posts on here for information and news all the time - there is a lot of knowledge and info here. Having a laugh is essential, but if the laugh goes on till its just mickeytaking following pisstaking, Lfgss will eventually be seen as a place mainly for a laugh. I would like to see this forum being a place for a giggle, but also for some really considerable depth. Am I offbase with that? |

| | Well - i can honestly say that this forum is freakin' inspiring. Yes, i had a flaming on my first post, and every post thereafter (Ha, ha), but everyone's opinions are what we are about right? I've been on a fixed for a few months now in the midlands, and i can associate with NO-ONE locally, and have learnt jack-shit about this passion of ours, but christ - over the past few days of being involved with this forum, i've learnt heaps, and gained loads. Oh, and i know where the "search" button is now.... Thanks for being you - newbies that are keen will fight through he insults. (Sheeeeeeite - i need a hug) |
