Chain Chainring Cog size problems

I'm having problems with my chain / chainring / cog combo on a secondhand bike i have just bought. The chain does not sound of feel like it is running smoothly and feels as though it jumps sometimes.

I think I may have found the problem but can someone confirm this is it.

The chainring is a Blackspire DH ring. The website says "Compatible with 8/9 Speed chains". I have seen on the sjs cycles website that 8 speed is 3/32" chain.

The cog is a DMR freewheel conversion kit.

I have been told these are for 3/32" MTB chains.

The chain fitted is a Sram PC1 which I believe are 1/18".

Is the problem due tot he 1/18" chain on 3/32" rings?

Thanks for any help.

Could be issues with your BB and chainset size but PC1 is the absolute cheapest/lowest quality chain out there in 1/8th. In theory a 1/8th chain on a 3/32 drivetrain would be quite forgiving alignment-wise.
