American Classic

Hi all,

First time poster, etc.

Was surfing the web and saw American Classic hubs. Thought to ask as I've gathered you foul lot might be in the know.

So has anyone here tried American Classic hubs? I've tried to look for reviews, but haven't been able to come to any conclusion. Light they are, yes, but wouldn't want to find out if they are fragile the hard way.

Thank you.

I raced on their road hubs. Do they make track hubs?

I've just swapped out a pair of American Classic hubs on a pair of road wheels because I wasn't happy with the quality of the bearings, i.e. they are too small and it got to the point where I was replacing them too often. I've heard of other people having similar issues with the hubs.

That's the same hub I have - in a pair of these. The bearings are tiny and just don't seem to be up to the task I'm afraid. I've replaced the hubs with a pair of Tune hubs, equally lightweight but much more robust in my experience.

Thank you, andyp. Enough for me to steer clear of American Classics.
