This is a good thing?
Sorry to refer to runnning again but its my nearest comparison...
i find when i run i zone out focus a head pay attention to the slightest changes in surface and attempt to land right on the paving. Looking straight ahead at all times and seeing the world go by in my periphery vision... and also have a tune in my head. ha like toms dinner..weirdo!

Fair point, solo distance riding takes a certain mentality. Personally I love it, especially those moments when you get to observe a peacful world undistracted. The countryside has a lot of stimuli if it's stuff you're into. If not then boredom can' be a really burden.

In the summer riding at night on a country road alone is great fun. You can just cruse along and really feel along rather than deal with cars overtaking you. Deadly quiet.

Object do you say things often to get attention, i dont think half your statements prove your worth.
Not that i'm trying to offend you but, you seem like a really intelligent guy who has a lot to say about a lot of things... ie you are strongly opinionated and that opinion is respected. Me as a forum newbie can respect what you have to say.... because you have experience, sorry (not that you know me)... but dont dumb yourself down.

CP

and thanks i have already found myself welcomed by you... and i look forward to the banter and criticisms as they come, from my silly posts.

i love riding fixed about the city etc, but for geting in the countryside get a road bike with gears its way faster - faster = more fun. Don't let anybody tell you they can spin fast enough to hit 50mph downhill

Come down to one of the drink events. Attention isn't something that I find hard to come by as I'm a very opinionated person, prone to ranting and frankly just fucking loud. As for "dumbing down", I don't believe life is worth living if you're not able to take the piss out of everything (especially yourself) and keep pushing yourself to higher and more extremem experience. It's not dumbing down, it's just letting go of all of the seriousness that people get so tied up in.

Maybe this thread is not an appropriate for our usual banter, and especially since you are a newbie...

so you are the guys in the office with a simpsons tie and one of those tit shaped mugs that you drink from the nipple.
'hey look at me I'm crazy mad".

sounds like you played too much dungeons and dragons and wet the bed till the age of seven.

I still we the bed now. Never did dungeons and dragons though and I don't really talk to anyone at work becuase I have no interest in them or their lives. I do more than the job I'm paid to and then leave work and go live my life. The forum is an intermediary between dull days and fun evenings.

And no my inability to reply to crazy ties and tit shaped mugs has nothing to do with my acceptance of this as fact. I just am not that guy.
