Help with microsoft word symbols- need a tick

anyone know the font and subset where i'll find a tick (as opposed to a cross) or know the character code for it?

my eyes hurt from scrolling through all the symbols and in three passes i still haven't found it!

pretty sure if you type a '4' in Zapf Dingbats you'll gt a tick.
