Dang.

Its incredible how close most of us come to something like that happening in our own lives, and by extension how close all or families come to having to deal with something like that.

I'm going to try and ride a little safer. I hope that guy, and his family get through this okay (however that's manifested).

I'm not saying this guy did, but I never have and never will run a red light. As a driver and former van courier, I know how little attention drivers pay to stopped traffic at lights (and why should they?), so a little bike popping out is the last thing expected.

Just passed nasty scene (11-8-08) on the cycle path through Camden (Royal College Street). Nice black condor with white seat crushed under a black car at the junction, looks like it turned across his path. Poor guy laid out with a breathing thing; police and ambulance crews all around.

It's a terribly-planned cycle path.

I never use cycle paths for just that reason.
For the speed you want to ride at they are death traps.
