Paypal, Buying Abroad. - London Fixed-gear and Single-speed

Has anyone purchased anything from America using paypal, i've spotted something i want to purchase but i don't know how it works, i don't have money stored with paypal as i always transfer it straight into my bank account.
I do have debit cards registered with Paypal but i need to know what kind of charges i'm gonna be slapped accross the face with, any ideas.

it's fine, it won't be an issue from the paypal side, and you'll be protected if something goes wrong.
certainly it doesn't cost any more to do on debit card via paypal...it'll cost the merchant 4 percent though
