| | My other forum is throwing a party this Saturday in Brixton Saturday 9th August 2008 The Final Countdown: Bowlie Alldayer 2008 4pm till 2am Brixton Jamm 261 Brixton Road London SW9 6LH Featuring: The Deirdres We just like to shine with twinkles and reflect a bit of hope, dress in charity shop clothing, and dance a little bit too. And yes you will join in. Resistance is frowned upon and all pretences left at the door. Thankyou." The Hermit Crabs Sweet succinct pop that snaps and crackles in all the right places…a dose of California sunshine filtered through Scottish bedroom-pop sensibilities. Pete Green Corporate Juggernaut Grimbarian pop slacker battles the work ethic, the NME awards, Myspace, railway cutbacks and the FA Premier League with nothing more than a smile, a hair straightener and a cheap acoustic guitar wintergreen An intriguing proposition, they recognise that there's a time for pop tunes, a time for thought-provoking, computer poking soundscapes and a time for ferocious string-scuffing noise. The Gresham Flyers On one hand, pouring a bag full of sherbert into a bottle of lemonade on the first day of the school holidays and consuming the lot. On the other, putting some meths in a can of Skol just after you've been battered by a tramp, and downing it in one. Plus DJ's Free limited edition single for everyone! Tickets £7 http://www.wegottickets.com/event/27838 The annual Bowlie all-dayer has been running at various London venues since 2004, and has already resulted in sold-out events with excellent performances from Bowlie contributors and associates such as MJ Hibbett, Language Of Flowers, and Strange Idols. This year is no exception, and will not only feature the bands (all of whom have been active contributors to the forum), but also DJ sets and multimedia exhibits. The two-roomed venue itself is suited to the grand ambitions of the day with live music in one room, and a more relaxed bar area in the other, complete with visuals and the soundtrack provided by DJs and mixtapes created by forum contributors. There will also be an outdoor area. |

| | It's a little twee, but if you've got nowt to do now that the LFGSS BBQ has moved to Sunday, then you'd be very welcome. Brixton Jamm has space to park bikes out front, and we have the venue so can ask security to watch stuff. Besides, there will be lots of smokers outside and I can make sure the door people watch bikes too. |

| | http://www.bowlie.com/ It's all hidden and non-public now. Due to the closure in a few weeks. Was massive though. |
