Yes, indeedy.

But you've gone fixed gear, which I'm not planning on doing, so I'll leave all my stuff on. The bosses do kind of annoy me, but has anyone seen the new bright green Bianchi that uses what look like zip cables to secure the brake line?!?! What's up with that? Tres inelegant!

Keepin' everything Campy that I can as who knows, I may just get a real single-speed & learn how to use tools by replacing my derailleur.

Agreed.

Not necessarily. You could get a band on shifter.

When I had a single speed roadie conversion I had bosses on the frame. I was always planning to get some old shifters and chop them down (so no lever, but the circular bit covering the boss was still there). Completely useless but maybe better looking than the bosses.

I will resign myself to just shut the F#*k up about it. After all (said in monotone robot voice) "Girls are always right"......... She will still look good riding on it. (but it does look silly) ;)

On a single speed it can still act as a chain tensioner, just gotta take it off when she turns fixed.
