Decal (kinda) Question

I'm finding it hard to track down some Rotrax decals for my restoration, so...Do many frame specialists offer anything like this (the Pinarello Lettering, etc) where it's sort of etched into the chrome, or has a satin chrome lettering?:

This thread made me happy.

Someone thinks rotrax are no longer, someone else happens to read this who knows better, and their phone number is duly supplied.

And the dependable Jol gives an alternative solution too.

All is well with the world, and this forum.

321 etc...

Thanks for the info stephen! Is that Tim Maund you're referring to? The email addy is the postcode for Rotrax on Shirley road, right? I read on various sites that the shop had closed. I don't really understand...

If it's not, I might take a short ride to Soton from Bournemouth this weekend then.

Just had my 1952 Concourse re-enamalled. Barrie at Witcomb managed to get some down tube decals sorted for me. They bought out Rotrax in the late 50's so he might have some bits and bobs lying around.

I'm after a seat tube badge to replace this:

any ideas?

I really like that design. Think of getting the frame done in a dark purple/blue, which I thina white decal like that would look good on.

I emailed the guy I originally bought the frame off of and he gave me some details if you're trying to track down some things:
"Hello Tom,
I only had the one set, and they sold to Bob French, the V-CC's Rotrax ME. Tim Maund, owner of Rotrax Cycles, still had some until fairly recently - and new head badges - and would (will?) build frames as either Rotrax or Kingston to choice. He now operates the business from his Southampton home. I have no contact details, but he shouldn't be too tricky to track down. Best of luck with that - and the rest of the restoration. Campagnolo Nuovo Record with Universal Super 68 brakes, Cinelli 1A stem and 64 bars, and a Unicanitor saddle is what I was panning to do with it. In fact, I've still got all the necessary NOS bits here.........."

Hope that helps somewhat.

I can confirm that Tim Maund is alive and well and building bikes in Southampton. Contact details as Slowstephen posted here earlier. He has Rotrax transfers, headbadges and a few track frames (531) for sale if anyone is interested.
