Tour De Hesh 2009

Call me crazy if you want but I had a wild idea the other day and I only just remembered it...

In the spirit of the Tour and everything that is awesome and non-awesome about it, I wanted to see if people would be interested in sorting out some sort of Tour series for next year?

It could include some or all of the races/rides that LFGSS members have been on, split people into teams, and then we could somehow organise things around it like how we judge overall performance against who wins etc. If we spread it over like 3 months or something it would mean people with unholy 9-5s could join in without having to take time off, also it would leave time for recovery for all the non serious athletes

No worries on having teams full of ass kickers (Hillybilly, Jonny etc) as performance enhancing drugs will not be monitored (I know I'm going to be ODing on that shit if it does happen). It'd be fun to get some proper hessians rolling round in team colours etc.

Anyone in?

not so much heavy metal fans but I geuss the majority of fixed gear riders in London would be deemed hessians by most roadies as they arent rocking round in lycras and colour co-ordinated bottle racks

Most roadies in London probably think the colour coordinated hipster tyres/saddles/grips mean the owner is some kind of fashion designer/ladyboy. Hillbilly being an obvious exception hahaha

Think Hippy is right, AFDS you may have bitten off a big chunk of organizational responsibility with this... We'll need a couple of big hill stages.. Fixed and roadies? Or some sort of handicap system to incorporate both??

I think to make things fair, teams should be decided alphabetically.

Hillbilly, Hippy, and Horatio ;)

I dunno, hillbilly is scruffy, like me. too dirty and worn to be a hipster.

the immaculate, colour co-ordinated, funny-haired people who sweep along without a spec of dust on them are invisible to proper roadies and trackies. They simply don't exist.

To admit to their existence would challenge everything that is right with the world, essentially we'd be on the brink of apocalpso (a kind of death dance)

I'm off to France in August for a couple of weeks, as soon as I'm back I'll start organising this shit for sure... I'm thinking an April / May date next year would give enough time to sort the logistics out. As far as hill stages are concerned, I'll consult 50/14 as the man loves it and I'm from Cambridge so what do I know about hills?

I figured we could even add in some stages that are a bit North (i.e above Stevenage) to get some of the northern monkeys from around the UK involved too.

Team Pay Day Bitches for the win
