| | Bianchi Pista Stockists, London Does anyone know where in central London can I buy a Bianchi Pista, using the Cycle Scheme? My work finally followed through on their 4 month promise of introducing the cycle scheme. I want to get a Pista, but only found 2 shops that sell it (apart from Evans - not on the cycle scheme) - one in Finchley and one in Putney. Anyone know of anything a little more central, before I make a trek..? |

| | Yep, can't buy from Evans. I guess that most stores would be able to order one in, but I also assume that they would really expect me to buy it - I want to be able to test-ride it, and have the option of buying something else if necessary. I guess I could test-ride at Evans, then purchase from somewhere else. Anyone else have tips on stockists? |

Yep, already did that - see OP. I was asking if anyone knew of a shop more central that was on the scheme and sold pistas. Thanks for your help anyways.

| | So what? I live in Wimbledon, I went as far as Victoria to pick up my Bianchi Pista, hell I was willing to go to Shoreditch Evans to pick one up. you're only gonna pick it up just this once, just go to the one that was mentioned, sorry I was a bit rude, but frankly you're only going there once to pick it up, might as well make the journery. |

I was just kidding around! I don't mind heading to Putney, I was just seeing if there was anything closer.

| | mattty, I've thought about it for several hours, and I thought I'd be honest with you. When asking a question here on this forum, it looks bad when people find out later that you already had all the answers yourself*. Its just a bit disingenuous is all. *You had already checked out the website that shows ALL the bike shops within London (or anywhere else) that are supported by cycle-work scheme that your company is attached to.....THEN you ask if anybody else has a better answer? Good luck with being taken seriously in the future. I know this will sound preachy, but I'm really not bothered; folks come on here to have fun, communicate, and be informed. You obviously think that laying wild goose-chases are fun for others. Have a rethink mate. I mean, you could be getting someone to stop their Solitaire, just to be helpful! Oh come on, are you being serious? I think I made it pretty clear in my first post that I had already checked out available information (cycle scheme to find participating shops, shops' websites to check out what they stock). I was trying to find out if anyone had knowledge that I could find one in a shop that didn't advertise it on their website - I would imagine that a lot of smaller shops don't keep their website completely up to date. For example, let's say that the bike shop on Holloway road actually sells Bianchis, but doesn't advertise the fact on their website. Maybe someone on this forum might have been there, noticed that, and would have been able to say "hey mattty, no need to drag your sorry ass from stoke newington all the way to finchley/putney, you can just go to holloway road instead." I KNOW that finchley/putney aren't super far away, and I KNOW that I could phone round some closer stores just to see if they in fact carry Bianchis but don't advertise the fact, but I thought that a quick post here might enable me to avoid a longer tube journey than necessary. Stop me if I'm wrong here, but I was under the impresion that that was one of the main purposes of the forum - knowledge sharing; I was - as you put it - looking to be informed. I'm very sorry that I wasn't more explicit in my original post that I had the information I had. I felt that it was clear, but I can see how you might mis-interpret it. I'm also sorry that I wasted several hours of your life. How about I buy you a beer at one of the drinks meets when I finally get the bloody pista? ps - this reply is a week late as I've been on my hols. | |
