160mm cranks

I recently bought a beater for polo, but am experiencing extreme pedal strike.

I’m looking for a cheap set of 160mm cranks to resolve this. Does anyone have anything second hand or know a cheap UK supplier? Any condition, i think even kid's bike cranks would do …

cheers

can you not just reverse shim the crank by 10mm? that would be the easiest thing to do

You'll just need to get a shim for your front brake.

Thanks, i'm looking to up the fluero coverage as a distraction tactic on the polo court.

BMX cranks seem to be the way forward - got tips from Max at drinks last night, but can't find a UK supplier and US cost + postage takes them over £50, which is way more than i was hoping to pay.

that would be great, i'm not gonna make it there myself, so if you see anything 160mm for cheap, snap it up.

I don't really have any 185 for the record. It was an attempt at a satirical response highlighting the prospensity of wild alternatives that are usually suggested in response to this kind of thread.

Some people.....

Ah, bugger, yes ... the chainring is 1/8.

Okay, (I feel this may be a dumb question) currently my set-up is 3/32 on chain/chainring/cog. Can i run a 3/32 chain on a 1/8 chainring?? (Or does it only work the other way round?) I was asking about this last night, but can't remember the outcome.

You'll be spinning like a madman on those sjs 140mm cranks! I use 150mm on my polo bike and it's just a bit too spinny. Plus you'll need an extra small gearing to equalize the lack of leverage you'll get with the smaller cranks.

Thanks Mike, I was slightly suspicious that they would be too wee.

And thanks Stevo - I had my eye on this, but was hoping someone might have something second hand I could get hold of quicker. I'll give it til after the Herne Hill jumble, and if nothing turns up i'll order through that guy's website.
