Really need some advice

I posted a thread the other day about wether I should get a surly or this or that through the cycle to work scheme. TODAY MY SHITTY RACER BROKE! I would need to replace the back wheel.
Now, I'm talking about a super-heavy 50cm (I'm 6 ft) that's actually quite scary to ride, but it took me to work and back every day (bout 16 miles).
AND I can only get a Pddywagon (hate) or a condor pista (£££) STRAIGHT AWAY.
PLUS on the scheme if you leave your work before the end of the payment you have to pay the remaining of the balance. That's the FULL price not the rduced one... If I'm still working there in 12 months I'll probably hang myself...

The thought of getting public transport to get to work is like a nightmare right now..

SO: do I spend money to fix my shitty bike or do I get a new one independent of the scheme, considering I really don't have a lot of dosh.

HELP???

£200 would get you a 10spd titanium chain.. but only if you got Wiggle to knock £20 off first.

a £50 bike from ebay (collect only), car boot, gumtree, classifieds, car boot, bike jumble etc . Can often be compared to something sold for £500 in the shop.

look at this, £65 and no one even bidded!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=190234187744

A good quality Dawes, british made 531 bike would cost £500+ today

in fact their £630 steel audax bike is taiwan made inferior 520 "licensed by reynolds" tubing.

Get the condor on the scheme.

Every month you stay at work is a bonus to getting the bike for cheap. If you get a new job, presumably with more money, pay off the balance of the pista - new job, new bike - hooray!

this gentleman Antonio might sort you out;he isn't too technical colour blind but does an excellent line in single speeds allegedly.Sometimes he advertises in Gumtree and his store is off Old Steet.07535247273 also the police are watching him so they might help you choose the colour if you can't decide.....

use your money to buy yourself a decent back wheel. a fixed one of course. then you have got the main thing to get yourself started on a decent ride in the future. don't rush it. use your crappy bike in the meantime and look for a decent frame and parts along the way.

don't use the cycle to work thing if you are bent on leaving
