Newbie Polo Night

Otters had the idea yesterday of playing a few newbie games of polo so those of us less than proficient can play a few games amongst ourselves. Just curious if anyone else is up for this?

You're not allowed near me. Especially if there is any type of a ball involved. ;)

Saturday is fine with me (but so is any other day really). And, we've got 7 people interested. That's two teams already.

Our team is in the process of making 3 mallets. Maybe some other teams are also? We can also fish around for some of the extras (Matt?)...

i'm sure you can borrow the mallets from the shacklewell massive as long as you collect and return..... and don't break mine or i'll hunt down your first born (mine is the one with the stripey black and white handle).

Done! Cheers Sheep! I will be sure to stay clear of any stripey black and white mallets.

Should we try for Brick Lane and hope no one's playing any other type of "sport"?

this is crap. u can play at any of the other venues, thu N/E, sun Brick Lane. nothing stopping u. probably should stop gas bagging and keeping an eye on games then get a mallet in.

I don't think the idea is really to prevent decent players from playing, or exclude ourselves from other games. It's mostly to get people together who (suck, and) want to play (and therefore get better/more comfortable swinging a stick around while on their bike/braver/handsomer/etc.). This is in addition to playing on other polo days!

I don't think anyone would stop anyone else from playing, but if you're already comfortable and confident I'm not sure why you'd want to come to this, or be offended about it happening.

i'm saying there is no need for something seperate. the vibe at the other events is to encourage newbies and u will learn quicker.

We wouldn't be offended abouty it happening. We're just addicted to playing polo, this could take it to 4days a week, 5 if west polo ever gets off the ground.

Tomorrow is the day! Newbies unite! Metcheck says there might be a tiny bit of rain, but nothing serious.

Not sure what's up with the courts on weekends, but this one seems like it'd be our best bet to try first (on corner of Ufton/Downham Roads in de Beauvoir). Some of us have our numbers on the phone number thread, so maybe take one or two just in case you show and no one is there.

Gabes, Otters, and I will be making some mallets in the morning then hopefully grabbing some more.

Meet at 2:00?

With north and east polo being transient, it can be 7 days a week!
We've played twice this week already...

Thank for the offer Chris - I think we're okay. I'll just grab some balls at a lss tomorrow morning, and i think we have permission to borrow extra mallets from the Shacklewell crew.
