A thread on a MTB forum

thought this might be of interest to people. http://www.singletrackworld.com/foru...78753&t=178665

I love the quote "Fixies have no place on busy urban streets.". I hate people that are not willing to accept new ideas.

welcome to all our visitors from stw.

stay as long as you want, have a nice cuppa and chat about bikes if you want. we have fashionistas, commuters, audaxers, roadies, polo players, trackies, downhill mtbers, trick riders and even some recumbent riders on here.

yes most of us ride fixed or ss and most of us ride other types bikes as well.

oh, and like in most groups of people, we have a few cunts - keeps it interesting...

and some of us on here were members of stdworld before you were even a bulge in your old man's internet connection.

I gave up mtb'ing because you can't do it in London unless you use cars or trains to get out, it's also expensive, easy and dull.

If I lived in the countryside, away from a velodrome, I would own a mountainbike instead of a track bike.

Hope this helps.

Especially as riding fixed on the road has been around for many, many years. Just ask your grandad.

Dammit
I'm sure that I saw a poll (or similar) the other day about "how many bikes do you own", where the majority of respondents admitted to having fixed/track/off-road/road (any version thereof).

Strikes me that having a wide choice of bikes to use would of necessity inform the opinion more than having only one...

On fixed forums we laugh at people riding dual suspension bikes around London.
On mtb forums they laugh at people riding fixed wheel bikes around London.
At home I get drunk and laugh at everything. You're all haters and you all suck balls. :P
