40 hole clincher 700c rim

I'm after a 40 hole clincher 700c rim to go with a vintage fixed/fixed hub.

Bicycle magic do a DRC ST19 rim in silver - just thought it's worth a punt on here first.

Thanks.

I know of a small local bike shop with a Mavic 40 hole clincher rim hanging up.

I think its a MA4, dark grey kind of colour. Brand new. I think its marked up at £30. Could fetch it and send it on if you wish. (I am in Birmingham)

Campyoldy have 40h Nisi clinchers.
Mavic still make the A719 in 40h
Witcomb stock Velocity Fusion in 40h

Thanks guys.

Skeletonboy - cheers for the offer but ideally wanted something in silver.
Will get back to you if fruitbat's and brain-flick's suggestions don't work out.

Isn't knowing the weight of a rider, the load they might carry, and the type of cycling they might do, required to suggest a 28 hole rim. I fear a 28 hole rim would collapse under me.

Not necessasarily. I can't find the link but I have read that 700 c and 27" where about at the same time primarily 700 c French (obviously) and 27" primarily British. I also remember reading about something along the lines of raleigh introducing 27" wheels as a proposed 2nd standard. At the time you must remember that the raleigh's Nottingham factory was the largest manufacturing plant in the world and made every part of the bike including the tubes! So if they can introduce a standard which they can supply many other bike companies with it makes sense. 700 c eventually won out and we arrived where we are today.

As I said I can't find the links I got this from so there may be some errors but I beilve the gist or it to be correct.

Yep yep SJS.... 27" 40 hole, wolber I think it is.

And of course the excellent suggestions from fruitbat for 700s

I'm thinking of some drc's to cut the costs a bit (half the price of Mavics) for a new wheelset. Nice to know Brain Flick's happy with his ST24s.
Actually Brainflick have you had any bother getting tyres onto these? I've read someone moaning about getting tyres onto one of the drc rims, the classic I think it was.

Also not sure about that groove cut into the brake surface on a lot of their rims, I have heard this is not really a good idea, water gets under the pads with these...
