http://www.crazyhorsebikeworkshop.co.uk/index.html

haven't been to it yet, have no idea who or what but i know where.

right near halfords, and not far from Moose, or Psubliminal (in the other direction)

seems like there are bike shops every half a mile between croyden and er..north london

Crazy Horse = Crazy Nice!

i go by tooting bec daily. Saw the owner standing outside Crazy Horse tonight, needed a 2mm allen key, so stopped in.
They're not open officially until Wednesday (they hope), but he was kind enough to let me borrow and take home one of those park tool triangle allen keys for the evening!

So far, so good in my books. I will definitely stop in there again when they're up and running.

As you say RPM there is definitely no shortage of indy bike shops in that area. best of luck to them as it may be a tough market.

Don't much care for psubliminal, so this will be worth a shot for a new lbs.

Would be nice to keep the cash down Sarf, rather than spending oop north when I get to work.

it can't be any worse than the usual bike shop experience which goes:

cuntstomer: have you got a (insert commonplace bicycle part or accessory)
bike shop personage: aah, no. sorry mate (then maybe an explanation of why they don't have said item, and advice on another shop who won't have it either)

nobody can complain about punters using online retailers.

Personally I do try to buy stuff locally if it's something I think they'll have..

so yeah, I buy all my inner tubes and rim tape from bike shops.

hang on, no, the shop didn't have any velox rimtape in thin, I got that from the bike jumble!

actually, the jumblers at HH are pretty good.

Yes - Cyclopolis. Opposite the (duke of) Devonshire and just up from psubliminal.

Another shop mostly catering to the hybrid crowd, with limited tools/accessories, but seem friendly and have good opening hours.

I just wish one of the 4 Balham / Tooting bike shops within a mile of each other catered for things fixed...I mean, it is a trend at it's peak!

Oh yeh, I went to that new shop in Balham, Cyclopolis, and it seems to be a really good place to get lots of things though it opened just recently. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

I'm thinking to take my bike for servicing there tomorrow.
