BMX Stuff, what are the best online shops in the UK?

Go on, I want to know.

I think I'm in the market for BB, cranks, chain, sprocket, cog.

Whole drivetrain basically.

Unless I can find the perfect BB to fill my immediate needs and get a cheap chain.

Either way... I'm not really that clued up on where to shop for the best BMX components so if you ride BMX, where do you shop online?

Try cyclesport uk, massive stock, based in Grantham which is where I am on my way to right now as it happens. What do you need? I might be able to grab it for you?

i would swear by these cranks until i got my hands on wombolts.

i am thinking about putting the wombolts onto my next fixed build.
I have my eyes on a steel fort lo pro, hopefully it will be mine. Add a Profile rear to deep v. Gsport Marmoset to open pro.
Elementary stem up front.
Odyssey twisted with power grips

Or if i can get one of the next batch of fbm frames i might go for that instead.
Somethign nice about having a mid bb and intergrated headset.

Sounds similar to how I originally had my Surly built up. Nice but heavy.

Does it make that much sense to put bmx cranks on a fixie?

They are a whole different level of stiff & heavy compared to your frame, its truly wasted amount of strength & weight. Especially on things like cranks which create rotational mass giving you a slightly more sluggish ride. In addition, most 3pc bmx crank spindles are very wide, as well as the arms being a minimum of 175 usually. Flatland cranks are shorter & narrower but you stoll have the problem of them being designed to run BMX chainrings with a single fixing bolt. This creates a whopping tight spot in your chain which feels awful on fixed. Last of all you will need a BMX Euro BB, for modern cranks with a 22mm spindle, these bottombrackets need ultra thin bearings and are very expensive. For the same price of the whole setup you could get some the best modern track specific cranks

Try www.pijin.co.uk they have all you need BMX wise. Speak to John or Carlos. Good chaps.

I have been running the same pair of Profile Race cranks for about 5 years now. I am not the smothest of riders and they are bomb proof (touch wood).
