What browser are you using? IE doesn't let me post on the forum (just doesn't work), and I don't want to buy Opera. Well, it didn't work the one time I tried to post the TT times from East Beers.

Don't work on Blackberry :'-(

VB can we get the PDA menu applied to threads, or is that too much bandwidth? Urban75 did it...... Then again it was mainly so Slocombe could use his PDAs.

Yes it will. Any Nokia N series phone uses their S60 software.

You're using a blackberry and it isn't seeing the mobile theme?

The theme auto-detects that you're using a mobile device. And if you are seeing the heavy desktop version of the site then I need to change something.

Let me know.

oh, it is working!

i was using the old m.londonfgss.com url and that seemed to take me to the heavy version whenever i clicked on a thread, but if i point at the normal url i get the light version.

woo!

Yes it works, but because I use my T-Mobile Ameo (HTC Athena X7500) for internet access, I'm accustomed to having the choice of the mobile version or full version of websites, a la BBC or Google home page. I don't see a choice box to tick. Previously when I came on here from my mobile, it was exactly the same as from my laptop. Possible to have mobiles route directly to the reduced pages, but have the choice of full web pages? Still, excellent work VB.

Hi VB, I don't know if this will be helpful at all, but just in case I didn't descibe what I was referrring well enough, I'm adding 2 web links that show what I meant.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/index.shtml (the Preferences link is at the bottom of the page)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/prefs/index.shtml (here the Desktop version can be selected)
If its alot of trouble, then please ignore me; I'm sure there aren't more than a few people that have mobile phone devices that possess a 5 inch screen.

N95 issues

have been having a go at browsing LFGSS via N95 and experiencing problems. Can browse the menus but when I enter a thread its coming up "Page not found." Any suggestions as to why that might be thanks?

I get this, and I'm on a Sidekick Slide. Before the newer mobile version was up I could read threads no problem, not anymore though :(

I would like the option to turn mobile browsing off when you surf with your phone. Posting images from your phone doesn't work in the mobile version (or I haven't figured it out yet).

download Opera for mobile - it's a fantastic browser that actually have those 'zoom in' feature like the iPhone.

I could probably do that.

I think by default having it do what it's currently doing is good. No-one who accesses the site on a mobile wants to find themselves downloading several megabytes of images... so the default is the right thing to do.

However for those that know that they have both the bandwidth and a mobile browser that can manage the full version of the site should be able to override the default.

I'll look into it later today.

I'd like that as well. I find the mobile version doesn't work well on an iPhone (constantly swiping sideways to read paragraphs that don't wrap) and loads of links are too close together.

Or, perhaps the normal site minus avatars, and images are linked rather than instantly shown?
