I'm Heather from NYC, coming to London for work next Wednesday and staying until the 29th.
I'd definitely like to get in on this ride to see the city and meet you guys!

Apropos speed:
It is a casual ride, with emphasis on sticking together, we only do fun little sprints over the bridges and then re-group on the other side.

I am going to bring some walkie-talkies this time so I don't shout so much. (Audible sigh of relief goes up in the background I'm sure)

And to those who were on the last ride let me say: Westminster Bridge Is Mine !

Possibly screwed it up in the Barnes-Hammersmith off-road wilderness, but for anyone in doubt:
Les Ponts Marque Deux

obviously, correct me if I'm wrong...

Will be nice because we can gradually assemble at Kew from whenever o'clock, and central London's roads will be clearing out as we approach through the night.

I suggest a good place to meet is on the small green on the south side of Kew Bridge. It's where we finished last time.

Start is around midnight, I think, although meeting times could be arranged earlier at intermediate locations and then have feeder rides.

sure you guys want to start in Kew this time?
I don't mind but if we start in the East again, same as last time, we could go to the pub before. Don't know many pubs in Kew. It also seems more fun to me to ride the bridges in the west when you are still more awake. But I obviously go with the majority...

Nah that is the point, we went east/west last time.

Closer to the time someone will put up a map. Plus where we finished last time in Kew there was a pub on the green. Assemble there from 10 (or earlier) set off for 12.

Look up a few posts..

This is last rides route:
Saturday Night Ride 14th July - The Bridges

We will be meeting up on the other side of the bridge at point 33 (Kew green) then heading back to town.
An easy and quick way to get out there would be to follow the map (backwards) I have just posted.

hmmm.. are we allowed to get on a train to the start? haha.. the ride itself is just about scary for me, but riding from deptford (pretty much where it's supposed to end!) to Kew and back seems way out of my ability hehe..

yup, just found your posts on another thread.. I'm in deptford strand and this other guy was somewhere on plough way. There's also someone on ebay selling a pair of powergrips who rides a fixie and lives in SE8. He also said he's on here, but I don't know his username.. West London posse? pfff.. there's more of us in SE8 alone! :P

We are not doing the Rotherhithe tunnel: no one likes it apparently (see first bridges thread)
We will go through the Greenwich FT South-North then the Woolwich FT North-South which lines us up for a nice ride back to the finish: Observatory Park (Greenwich hill).

That is part of the fun, this is not a weekend ride in the country :D

Yeah the Rotherhithe is shit, bad air from all the trapped exhausts, single lane, fast traffic - Lets do the Blackwall tunnel as well.

I rode through the Blackwall tunnel once by accident when I first came to London - Harrowing.

And I had to climb up a motorway embankment when I got to the South side.
