Anyone tried those Crank Brothers Smarty pedals?

Just wondered as I bought a pair on impulse (and because they were reduced) and since have read really mixed reviews about them online. People either hate them saying they basically fell apart or were impossible to clip into/out of. Or, people love them and speak very highly of them. Very odd. I wonder if they had a duff batch or something from the factory. If you've ever tried them how did you find them?

i looked into it and was advised not to go for them. apparently they can be bad for accidental unclipping. i went for time atacs instead.

I had some, and my opinions are documented elsewhere on this site

Sorry, must be the Alzheimer's.

You did say you used them for a year and they were OK, I was hoping for some more detailed feedback from other users as well. Especially after finding this little lot...

I got 2x eggbeaters and some blue sprint pedals from crank bros no problem just so long as you change your cleats once in a while
