busking below my office that are thrashing guitars about
like they are out of kiss,

the other night my girlfriend and i went to bed and she started to get annoyed
about something so i thought fuck it, ill go to sleep.
i wake up half and hour later and she is wimpering so i turn on the light and she is
crying. i demand to know why she is so upset and she refuses to tell me because
apparently ill get annoyed and tell her she is stupid.
she eventually tells me she feels like she is constantly in the way of me
and my bike and that she doesnt think im interested in her at all.

although this is a sad state of affairs i thought this was bloody funny.

should have taken the bike out of the bed then ;^)

tell her she's right, and it's high time she started to buck her ideas up.

i get the same sort of responses from my lady, so i build her a fixed wheel bike,
like magic now she is part of the club

Girls get in the way of bikes, skateboarding, records, mates, goin out.......

so i said get a bike and you and i can ride together. she thinks its
a poor idea.
her mum(a 40 year old publican/alcoholic/20 a day lady) later told me she did a 400
mile ride and a triathlon for charity!
i would happpily help her get a bike together(with my little knowledge) but she claims
she will start swimming??? she will never do and i think she is embarassed to start riding.
i saw a guy riding a fixed near westminster and he was with a lady on a fixed. i thought
it was uber cool!

ones i even let my lady ride my bike!
imagine that!

i guess the answer is a bit of both,
get her involved AND lay off the constant bike banter

haha the bike banter. i am definately guilty of that.
because she was my best friend before we go together i tend
to talk about the same stuff i would do with friends which normally
is me boring them with bike talk.
she puts her face in her hands whenever i mention anything about bikes!
im getting better though!

ladies like to have something to ride....and if it ain't you cos you're riding...and it ain't her own bike....cos she ain't got one....then it's gonna be that sympathetic bald headed stranger that turns up at her door offering her a shoulder to cry on!!!.....where do you live again????.......:)

I'm so lucky.
My girl is producing the bicycle film festival so sometimes I have to tell her to lay off the bike banter! She comes around to polo and will play occasionally. And her fix is much cooler than mine...

Was the guy on a black bike and the girl on a blue bike? Coulda been me and my girlfriend. She isn't really into bike geek banter but she likes riding and is generally quite hardcore. We went fixed gear touring at Easter and had loads of fun.

i feel like a lottery winner, my lady likes to ride ss on her vintage cameo, and never gets in the way of anything i'd like to do .
If your girlfriend's that insicure to think that she gets in the way of you and your bike then buy her some flowers take her to dinner, movies and shit like that ...you ain't got a girlfriend just to satisfy your sexual needs have you now? If so dump her and get one the one nighters train.

I got my gf this blue Raleigh. She doesn't really ride it coz she's scared on the road but we've taken it for the odd spin along the Regent's Canal path?
I'm slowly converting her to the way of the bike. She's very patient with me, bikes and computers.. But then, I'm worth waiting for.. hahaha :P

build her a bike but don't push it on her and maybe build a normal bike first, if she is not cofident and happy on a bike she prob does not care if it is fixed or not. My girfriends bike is a five speed, but I am currently on the look out for a SA 3 speed hub to lace in to the rear wheel, the ultimate hub, some varation of ratios but bullit proof and low maintainace. Just don't push anything on anyone it won't work.

At least she is only crying over a bike, easy.

I think I prefer my women to show an interest in my hobby without actually engaging themselves in my hobby I don't think I want matching bikes and I think I'd prefer to go at my own speed HOWEVER I do have a bit of a hankering for a tandem
