Uxbridge Road

My partner and I have to cycle from Acton Central to Hanwell Station tomorrow, and it's not a part of town that I know at all. Looking at maps, the obvious route is Uxbridge Road which links the two directly. Do any of you know if it has a separate cycling path, or lane? If not I will start plotting a back-road route between the two, so advice from any of you who know that area well would be appreciated. Cheers all.

Hi Tomasito, I did South Ken to Harefield via Uxbridge (& along A4020 Uxbridge Road) last Monday...was cycle path / bus lanes pretty much all the way. Have to say I have never heard of Hanwell!!!!!!

oh, hanwell's probably 3 miles west of acton central I would guess, so it's not that far, but far enough to not want to cycle along the hard shoulder if uxbridge road is a big 'un. (giving myself away here as an eastie who never goes west!). but it sounds like it should be fine.

Just watch out for the suicidal grannies who have a God given right to step out into the road anywhere in Southall.

Got a little front bumper nudge on my chainstay off someone this morning on the Uxb Rd.

Probably my fault at the end of the day, but if the fella wasn't desperate to save himself 2 seconds he could have let me go round him.
