Rider down

There was someone lying in the middle of the St. John Street./Clerkenwell road junction when I road through there at about 9.30. Female/yellow bike with front wheel knocked off. She was surrounded by a group of people, couldn't see much else.

Ride safe people!

Work near there. Police wouldn't tell me what condition the girl was in but they were keeping everyone well away from the junction for sveral hours so that they could gather evidence.

is there any car that's parked rather abnormal? if not, possible hit and run? (since the police needed to collect evidence sound like a hit and run).

If that is true it isn't the first time at this particular junction. This was reported in 2005 at the same junction.

I sincereley hope the rumours aren't true.

There appeared to be an accident last night on Old St. a bit west of Old St roundabout. in the east-bound lane. Coppers and Ambo were onsite already and I didn't get a clear look. It looked like it might have been cyclist or scooter.. not sure.

I only started working near there recently, but I've been riding through that junction for a few years. I think there's been at least three deaths there since I've been riding it. It's an 'orrible junction.

Shit that story about Marie is horrible!

Being a student myself Ive been known to hang out with female exchange students, who tend to be into cycling and activism, they also tend to be a lot more classy (no crusties), intelligent and really enthusiastic...

It even mentions her friend called Ana in the article, I hung out with a portugese girl called Ana a few months ago and kind of encouraged her to ride bikes..

eek, this is awful incident... I hope I never started a weirdly connected chain of events here..
