Cornwall - London Fixed-gear and Single-speed

Towards the end of the Summer I intend to ride to Bodmin. Has anyone here ridden to the Westcountry from London? It would be a holiday so I don't want to break my back too much. More generally, how would I go about planning a route? I guess I would like to stay at guesthouses overnight rather than camping. I have a place in mind in Padstow where I can stay for free for a week or so afterwards, then I'd get a train home.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

My folks run a Guest House not far from Bodmin: http://www.lower-house.com

It's pretty hilly round there, mind.
