There's nothing wrong with it, Tommy. It's just idiomatic language. A bit like the shouting child who was asked by their teacher, "How can you stand to work with all this noise", at which point the child promptly stood up.

You did spell 'offence' in American English though (and personally, I find the term American English a little bit oxymoronic).

Tough luck, mate. The fracture clinic at st george's is like the 7th circle of Hell. Take a good long book!

During one of my visits, I had the second appointment of the day @9.10am & got there early so had already had my x-ray by 9am. Was finally seen @11.20am. 2+hrs delay in the space of 10 minutes. What a fucking shambles (and full of sick people too).

Yeah I know about that place. I've spent my fair share of time in there, every day for two weeks 4-5 years ago. its OK though I'll just sit and try and guess what is wrong with everyone. Maybe find out the names of some intresting bones.

i am with dogs. make sure you get checked out properly - medically.

and i think you should speak to a solicitor. because if you have problems in later life you may need to claim against the car drivers insurance co at a later date.

Yeah dude, check out Roxy's thread on accidents and follow it ALL through. Get case numbers and everything, who knows what is going to happen later? Please do it.

A few years ago, a friend of mine broke both the bones in his lower leg (can't remember what they're called, sorry). We took him to hospital and the nurses asked my friend and I to help them set it. This isn't a joke, btw. Needless to say, we fucked it up. Now, when both his knees are facing forward his right leg is at about 40°. This is real 'fucked for life' shit. he can't ride a bike properly or anything.

Anyway, if you report it and all that, you won't have to worry about it later.

And HTFU (Heal The Fuck Up) soon

:p

fracturing a bone in your back is fine as bone will heal. disc's on the otherhand don't repair ;)

they can re-break the bone and re-set it if they want and it will heal.

Re break the bones, he was in a wheelchair for months last time and it was over a year before he could ride again (he's a snowboard photographer and if he can't walk, he can't work)...

Weirdly, if he'd have sued the NHS he could have won a fortune.

in a medical setting if the break it cleanly and re-set, it will take 6-8 wks to heal ;)

i'd definitely not do it in this country though, or get it down through private health insurance.

My experience of fracture clinic is - get an early appointment and arrive on time. I always try to get the first appt of the day (8:30). Then they haven't had a chance to start running late. It is an early start though...

Hey Hillbilly, How are you feeling today?
Take it easy for a bit, you do not have to participate in East drinks TT tonight, OK.
I was 37 when they removed 2 discs and inserted Ti plate in my neck, no problems.

Still at verk but just had a very productive meeting for some viral stuff we're working on. Would be good to make it to some of the other drinks though (other than just south a couple of times that is). Bar-tape arrived this morning and the Park Tools wrapping tutorial is freshly printed out and in my bag. This evening will either be a bar-wrapping success or will see me running down my street screaming, naked but for some badly cut bits of Brooks leather bar-tape stuck to my chin and nipples.

But Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats said all there is to say about Mondays, on my behalf.
