Drunken driver fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into a peloton. Police had to save him from being lynched which was a shame.

Here is the pic rehosted,

Quote:
Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico (Monday June-2-2008) Seven competitors from yesterday cyclist race were severely injured after being hit by a drunk driver, one of them died and other three were hospitalized. The drunk driver was arrested after the rest of the participants tried to lynch him.

Jeezus, that is horrific! I was in Mexico over Christmas and New Year, and the driving over there is very bad, saw 3 fatal accidents whilst I was there! I for 1 would not ride a bike on the roads over there.

the guy was drunk. can happen anywhere. and people fall asleep whilst driving all the time. a mate once fell asleep (due to fatigue not alcohol) whilst going over bridge below...the barriers woke him up

i got this form another source. horrendous.

how do they know he fell asleep ? he might have done it on purpose !

my source also said there is a pro speeding forum called pistonheads where they are all having a good laugh about it.

car enthusiasts = murderous facists.

i am beginning to think so. what with all the issues concerning motor powered vehicles.

why do let them drive through our community anyway ?

what is wrong with our leaders that they cant stand up to the motoring lobby and tell them 'we dont want you anymore - you are doing bad things'.

gotta get it of my chest somewhere.

apologies if i am boring you all.

gonna go to bed now.

I just saw it a sec ago and came to post it on here.

It indeed is spectacularly horrifying.

As its Mexico im still hoping its some photochop job by a crime tabloid, with much exagerration.

If it is indeed as it looks though, maybe the punishment will be fitting over there.

we know how cars sounded when they crashed with each other, we know how bicycles sounded when they crashed with each other.

Right now I just don't want to know what a car and bicycle combine sounded when they've crashed.

Eek, horrible.

12 club riders got hit while out on a Sunday 60-miler in Wales a few years ago. 4 were killed.

Fascism is the ideology that makes the individual will entirely subserviant to the nation/state.

For the government 'to tell people how to get about' would arguably be fascist.

I think car ownership is the opposite evil - an individualist, ego-centred, 'nobody else matters' pathology.

It has proven pretty difficult to define.

I was going with Mussolini..
"Anti-individualistic, the fascist conception of life stresses the importance of the State and accepts the individual only insofar as his interests coincide with those of the State, which stands for the conscience and the universal will of man as a historic entity...."

I think Crank's posting of Mussolini's definition is fairly accepted, fascism as an authoritarian system of government and social organization.

What is your own definition ?
