FGSS holiday?

Today has provided me with the notion of an FGSS attack on Yorkshire.

Would anyone be interested in riding the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way?

It's technically a shortish ride spread over 6 days with the longest day being all of 38km.
To be honest I'd be more likely to propose that we ride it in 3-4 days.

The hills are brutal in both directions. Great for climbers and awesome for high gear inches and brakes on the way down.

Is anyone interested?

It's an awesome pub crawl. We can even do it on the cheap and stop in B&Bs so we have more money for booze.

ah ha, my neck of the woods. you'll soon see that yorkshire was built for riding fixed.
legs and lungs screaming as you desperately try to crank up one side of a hill... knees and brake screaming as you begin the torturous descent.

And Jonny, I meant I lived there whilst I went to school ;]

I'd be interested, Malham has to be one of my favourite places in the world.

Not sure on availability time-wise though, depends when it is :-)

Tommy it's planning in progress. If I'm organising it it's likely to end up being next year.
Let me know if you want to do it and we'll work around you.

To be honest I'm also broke and August would be the earliest I could afford it. Late = Better.

May I suggest a LFGSS holiday to (the hippy part of) Ibiza or Amsterdam or Prague or Barcelona or um, anywhere but England (as much as I love it)?
We could do a "Mtv Spring Break/Bikes gone wild" party till we puke (but in the sun instead of the rain) holiday!!!!!

...or can I be her (the top one) in Yorkshire?

I'm definitely into riding some other warm countries too. I just fancy doing a ride I did at a young age, but in a different way.

So tell me when. Dates people. Specifics.
Maybe we could just do a tour of all of our parents houses for tea and biscuits?

I dunno if this route would go anywhere near York but if it does my Dad will supply beer and BBQ. And possibly shelter if there isn't too many of us.

Techinically it goes no where near York but my basic thinking is get some nice views, brutal climbs, wicked descents and a lot of beer cramemd into some days away. We don't have to do the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way, it was just an idea as it's a nice ride.

More Yorkshirelandian flat cap wearers on here than I thought, good to see our Yorkshire thriftiness in only shelling out for one gear had attracted you to our green and hilly part of the world.
Count me in for hooking up for some larks too, by eck it'll be grand.

I'm up for yorkshire, also up for cycling somewhere flat, and sunny (not that yorkshire isn't, on occasion, very pleasantly sunny of course!)
