| | The original Shamals are Ok for the track (I have been lent pairs for major events) but they have a reputation for not being good with sideways flex (road cornering) i.e. they collapse! not sure how a rebuilt rim wold perform.... have to say when I have ridden them, they were silky smooth, if slow to accelerate. |

| | I didn't notice any difference when switching my front on my "beater" to a 16-spoke Shamal... except the bling-factor went up by about 300% :) now i just need to figure out what rim to use when building up a rear to go with it.. Have been thinking about the "bright silver" Deep V or Mavic CPX 14 polished.. I don't know if a "bright silver" Deep V would have about the same polished surface as the Shamal though. |
