That's cos the frame's pissed. There was a recall on a batch of Tarmac frames - didn't you see it?

What's the saddle tilt like? Is it dead flat, down or up at the front?
Also, is the saddle nose aligned dead straight with the top tube? Generally, most people are more comfortable with the saddle pointed a smidge to one side or the other. My S-Works, for example has the saddle ever so slightly twisted left.
yep, been experimenting with tilt for a while...brooks need to be tilted up, or you slide forward. been moving it back, forward on the rails, trying to sort it out.

i do feel that i have done the required amount of experimenting, but to no avail. hence my feeling the need to try another saddle.

Just got home from the L2B ride today and am a bit knackered, kinda feel like the dinosore "Megasorearse" unlike others I don't normally do 220km in one weekend.
Big ups Jonny for the Spires route and flatness of the ride ;) total pancake man.!!! nice to meet forum folk who I have not yet met, and to see ones I have again. Felt good hooking along at speed with Mertle and was spesh to be in a mini peleton sucking Lebowski's wheel next to Hippy just to see the full carbon geared one get bored with our fast pace, do the road runner'esk beep beep, and cruise off into the distance. Mr Slag Hope you heal soon budy. weather was great Bishops tipple was great, train bitch was not so great but all in all I had a great time.

I have a B17 narrow and it is pretty nice.

I got a special ed. B17 for my soon to arrive steamroller, and am worried it's a little wide.

great ride peeps. suprisingly tough. i've been on the road bike a bit lately 70-100miles and definitely x2 harder.

i'm a very very lucky man, to survive my crash with only a couple bruises and scratches. basically avoided running over greasyslag's head after he dropped it on the corner and into the gravel, but meant doing a superman into the tree's . good spin the last 15 miles, yes, i'll admit i was pushing the pace, but will admit i was hurting as much as the next person.

i won't mention i also beat bmmf up the big hill ;)

I wasn't hurting at all those last 15 miles - I was feathering the front brake the whole way :p

And I wasn't racing up that hill, but fair play to the convicts. As mentioned by Big Daddy Wayne, it would be great if they'd be part of the Rollapaluza team at the next Catford Hillclimb, and put in the fast times, while I just make up the numbers.

Saddle adjustment is never over, just watch Merckx in Sunday in Hell tinkering around with it for ages before and even during the race. It looks almost compulsive but especially the pitch angle is very difficult to get right.

remember stompy commenting as we set off to dunwich last year that he thought my saddle was too high. it's not. we all find our own positions and i am busy on the saddle, but when i am walking my hips are busy too. could give birth to quintuplets without breaking sweat.

the harder the saddle the better in my opinion. it's taken me a while to find the one that works best and I love the Selle Italia Storika.

ride enough and your underside HTFUs. mine is now leather like the face of the late Jack Palance.

Gutted to have missed this guys - I was a bit sore Sat after Fri's drunken tumble and had a fair bit of stuff to do round the house.

Must've been the best weather yet. Sorry to hear about all the spills and arse troubles. I guess there's quite a difference between a commute and 5+ hours in the saddle (I wish I was doing more of the latter to comment).

Nibles, shame to have missed you. I think I'm gonna +1 on the saddle positioning, I have a swift ti on one bike and fizik arione on another and the latter is deffo more comfortable. However, I only really do long distances on the arione so even then it's prob not a fair comparison...

GS heal up quick. Hope to ride out with you guys soon.

And bloody hard work it was too. Took me just over 2 hours to complete the 35 mile route. Whoever says London is flat should definitely do this route. Especially the slog up East Heath Road. I'm definitely going to make this a regular (possibly weekly ride). It was a little traffic heavy in some places because I left it late. I can see myself setting off for about 8am in future. When are you be back in the saddle Pip. That is if you aint already?
