| | ok, i can only presume this is some kind of 1950s HHSB, with a 27" rear wheel, complete with Sturmey AW 3 speed hub. Front wheel is a 26", with a dynohub. Bike also has numerous other things attached, and shitloads of tape which i peeled off. in the seller's pic it looked like this: it looked like a path frame to me, so i bought it. you can see the full glory of the front wheel thing going on here: ![]() and other details (lovely handwriting logo): ![]() ![]() so basically, i stripped it right down, gave it a brief clean, then built it up on the sly, swapped the pitted bars for a nitto stem i had lying around, few other bits and bobs, quick quick, to see what it looked like ((note pencil thin seat stays) : ![]() and all was well, and it had a vintage pump on the bosses. and i rode it around until i got totally nailed by a bicycle courier on the wrong side of the road, who essentially flattened me and my nose pissed blood and hurt my shoulder. the pump also got flattened. well, things happen. the bike's fine, the pump and my nose and arm are not. i went to critical mass after walking roudn town in a bit of a daze, sort of shock, looking for somewhere to clean the blood. nice to see corny and lebowski and chug it and stevechugit, and mike c, and phil, seb, joel and others. i'm going to get it shot-blasted and resprayed, should be nice. looks very much like a 1950s zephyr path frame. oh and if that wasn't enough - whilst sat in soho square, licking my wounds, this happened: ![]() |

| | slave one, you bastard. That's a bit presumptious don't you think? i have ordered a new tub/tape/pump from ribble. I am hopeful that i'll be able to try out the trispoke early next week. By the way, if you want to do a temporary trade in the future and experience cycling 1 spoke closer to the revered monospoke, let me know :) |

| | Not presumptious, it's the name of Boba Fett's ship - it's a bit beaten up, kind of like my bike. It's almost anti-slave to be honest. I got my tub from Planet X - £20 for a conti 650c. It took fucking ages to find a decent priced one to be honest. So I accidentally ordered three... Damn me and my shit 'click to order' fingers... |

If you are nice to me I will let you have a go on my monospoke. ;P Is your new 650c trispoke a Hed ? If it is, do you know there is a backwards and forwards - ie: you can put it on back to front. If you put it on as it appears in your picture - it would be on the wrong way - the valve hole needs to be on the drive side as the blades are not symmetrical, they have a leading and a trailing edge. ![]() | |

| | so with a hed 3 I can fly? Incidentally I sort of guessed that. The wheel is propped up so for show only. the hub actually has threads, and has been re-spaced for use on the front, so i sort of guessed I should probably use it with the threads on the drive side :) Thanks for the concern, and eagerly anticipating experiencing monospoke. |

| | This just came in the mail: http://www.londonfgss.com/members165...picture370.jpg http://www.londonfgss.com/members165...picture369.jpg It's pretty and opalescent. It also came with these: http://www.londonfgss.com/members165...picture434.jpg Building it up for my girlfriend (the Raleigh she's on is too big). Does anyone know anything about this frame/company/team? It has a small plaque (!) on it that says: "Level Four Team Issue 1996". And it's steel, so no likely to be a Lynskey ;) |
