It is on this bike... sorry for the "fenders". It's not always that easy to remember what words are English and what words are American, remember I'm danish :)
mudguards it is then :)

Anyway it's a heavy frame, Reynolds 500 straight unbuttet tubing, 80's frame I guess..
Weird though, it seems that the individual who bought it in the first place didn't really use it.. the brakes didn't even wear the paint of the rims.

I bought mine on "tinterbay" about 3 weeks ago. I don't think they come up all that often though.

those webbed rossins are vile.

and the frames above all appear to be fairly straightforward and drilled for a front brake. which makes them anything but a HHSB - which incidentally is a nauseating acronym, surely meaning 'horrible hipster spazz bike'.

The frames above are the Kilo TT, which are getting great reviews over on bikeforums.net. If I can find something equivalent but a little more track for $200, I am all for it!

Of course you are right about the saddle Dogs, but I think it looks good. The stem is actually a Nitto Pearl 90 not a 60s English stem. Bars again are my preference, didn't want risers or flats, well, not yet, but after riding a few months I might decide to change them.

hey tom- its your bike mate, ride it as you like it!

{edit} that sounded patronising, basically if you ride it, who can question your build?
And never listen to dale. he just can't wait for his project and all these completed ones are killing him. I know how he feels. (or at least I will do by the time my project gets here- because everyone will have done theirs).

if you post it, it's no longer your bike.
it's kind of like 'death of the author' but with bikes.

The essential meaning of a work depends on the impressions of the reader, rather than the “passions” or “tastes” of the writer; “a text’s unity lies not in its origins,” or its creator, “but in its destination,” or its audience.

That's a lovely sounding sentence, but subscribing to it, in the context of bicycles, is subscribing to a charter for posers.

Basically "Worry about what your audience think"

it's your bike and you can do with it as you please. but saddle just doesn't fit the build.

Are you suggesting that bullhorns have no purpose over risers? what about the ability to stretch out and multiple hand positions? (and no, "right up by the stem" and "a little bit further out" are not separate hand positions :P)

The primary reason I'd run them over drops would be on a town bike where I'm not likely to use the drops much, but want to keep a 'hoods' position that has the advantage of letting me get better leverage on a brake.

I'm going the Grandad touring route. Just bought this. It's 27" wheeled.. also planning to get it a 700c cyclocross wheelset and hopefully have two bikes in one. OBTB FTW
Also building up a slave lo-pro as primary fixed, and returning my Guerciotti conversion to its Campag SR geared glory.
Going to be a fun, greasy, (expensive?) summer.
