Since i`m slightly obsessive about the skillful use of a cycle gear I`d like to promote an informal competion, based upon maximum acheived cadence.
If you don`t have a cadence-o-meter, then go to the bike analyzer www.arachnoid.com and use you maxed speed and gear sizes.
Entries will be submitted on a trust basis and the winner will receive nothing more than the respect of his/her peers, on account of having ventured into the unknown.

My entry is 193 rpm, at 40.9 mph using 42x16 and a 25mm tyre,?down a hill on the way to Brighton.

Good luck to one and all.

Does it have to be fixed? What about on rollers? I've cracked 200 but on a mag trainer with gears.
My coach hit 273rpm.. using 115mm cranks on a recumbent :)

At least 300 rpm but I have no speedo or cadence measuring thingy so this is purley on my own estimation, but I am very good at estimating, at least 300, and my penis is also 12 inches.

160 on my road bike. It was comfortable. I was attempting to get out of the way of a truck and a bus.

231rpm on turbo trainer (some structural damage to downstairs neighbour's ceiling probably).

Have cracked 200rpm on the road, either spinning bottom gear on the flat, or 46x20 fixed downhill, but it's not very sensible really.

How about slowest sustainable leg speed?

45mph? What gear ratio? I was pretty much spinning out chasing Roberto on that Southend ride and I passed DaveK doing 32mph on 44/17

Takes a few goes to get up there; 10 second bursts; keep adding 1mph each attempt; 39x23; coffee essential; my legs were rebuilt using those red rubber bands that the posties drop on the pavement.

Don't know how many rpm you lose each year. I think Robbie McEwen's 35, and he still seems to have some snap.

Whatever I do, I can't seem to spin any more or less than 2 pedal turns per revolution.
