Surly Steamroller. Brand New. Never Built

Hi everyone

Just got me Steamroller in the post, but alas I picked the wrong size. I ride a 50/52cm road frame so chose the 49/52.7 surly frame. But I forgot the steeper headangle would make all the difference. oops. Lesson learnt there.

All I did was put wheels on it. Also didn't realise it came as FFF (fatties fit fine) meaning it needs long drop brakes - not my style.

So i'm now looking for a lemond, and this brand new frame is up for grabs. still boxed (again). Suit someone less than 5' 8".

Go to surly's website for details. It comes in one colour, a really suave dark burgundy.

Sell at trade for £210 - RRP is £300

cheers
Adam

Thanks for the offer!

I've been looking for the £ to buy a fixed gear bike for some time - I can't/won't - so I'm selling my Genesis hybrid. N

ow my brother-in-law (a seasoned cyclist) has whipsered doubts in my ear * it's too dangerous in traffic * you live in Barnet * there are hills * you can't freewheel *

I've been cycling 20 years - will I really find it dangerous - you're all alive still aren't you?

HELP THERE ARE VOICES IN MY HEAD!

those damn seasoned cyclists, don't listen to them It's all the salt and pepper they've been covered in. Clouds their judgement.

Shannon - why not go with a flip-flop hub, then you can get used to SS first (i.e. stop thinking about gears, allows you to concentrate on traffic / peds), then if you feel ok go to fixed (think about pedalling action, road positioning, cadence etc). Fixed is very "pure", but it's not for everyone..

then obviously from there you can progress to arrospok hipster-land (wearing impossibly tight rolled up jeans and comedy cycling cap on your lo-pro stup, where even if you look up as far as you can you might be able to se the front of your wheel...:-)
