Mountain Biking event, southbank, this sat (24th)

"Get your fix of intense mountain bike action with the Nissan QASHQAI Challenge - coming to London for 2008"

24/05/08 (this sat)

Qualification rounds start at 11.45am
Finals start at 5.30pm

Anyone fancy heading down?

northshore? from the website, it only looks like dirt jumping. are they doin something similar to the redbull urban downhill at lisbon?

Might see if the girl fancies a cultural trip to the SBC and then accidentally happen upon it! North Shore riding is pretty insane, only ridden sections of it on trails in the Lakes and Wales.

What I really like to watch is Urban Trials, now that is impressive bike control!

Its not northshore . . . last year they did 4 different events across Europe, each with a different theme, dirt, big air, urban, and northshore which was in Newcastle. However some guy broke his neck on the northshore, so this year they are just doing big jumps

Yup . . being a bmx'r in me youth i always saw little point in MTB dirt jumping, but in the last 5 years or so this sh!t has come into its own . . . the speed an amplitude these guys go at is insane, and now their backing it up with some serious tech

Stumbled on it accidently yesterday on my way to see my mate's show at the Globe. Had to watch for 20 mins, it was awesome. There were some sick mountain bikes knocking about, with some SERIOUS money spent on them. Carbon fibre agogo on some of them

That was that Sam Pilgrim guy who won. From the UK and was only 17!!! Ridiculous how good these young riders are getting. Especially in skateboarding...

Gutted it wasn't northshore, but oh well, good to see some barspins and some flat-ish tables.

I was tripping out on the Brooklyn Machine Works lot and a hydraulic gyro that I came across, even more weird was this guy who had a tattoo sleeve of Slipknot heads! Nuts...
