Hubs, axles and a bit of chainline

Have some lovely new (old) mavic open pro CDs to build up and am after hub advice, I have had a quick search around but found nothing that really covers this.

I am not sure which frame they will go on, and they probably wont stay there when they do, including a 120, 126 and a 130, so I need to be able to switch between.

Which hub would people generally recommend for this? I was looking at goldtec cause they are interchangeable or miche primato done out with spacers, ignoring the goldtec costing double. Any other recommendation?

Depends on budget. At one end of the scale you've got goldtec, at the other you've got Formula/Zenith (~£20), which typically has a long enough axle to space to at least 126mm (maybe 130mm too). WOrst case scenario you can space something to 126mm and squeeze the stays of the 130mm bike together to fit it. I'd avoid using the same method to fit a 120mm hub into 130mm drops though...

formula hub and a stack of M10 stainless washers will give you endless possibilites from 120-130.

Thanks for the ideas, Just seems a bit of a shame to put nice rims (well they are nice for me) with crap hubs. I have an old campag chorus in need of some love that might go to make up my new front which would leave me more spends for the rear, but I think I will hunt around more for some a 'midrange' long axle hub... unless someone had a black goldtec rear going spare?
