Being aware of puppy killing sentimentalities (though not fully understanding the metaphor) is there a way of re colouring/painting a frame in a semi permanent way without destroying the historically important original.

it doesn't destroy it, it just hides the provenance. i suggest you take pictures of the frame, then if you want to get it properly, i.e. expensively enamelled in the original scheme, you still can.

You can get hold of the coloured plastic that vinyl signwrighters use and could cover tubes etc with that, but it won't go over the lugs without creasing and looking rubbish. Alternatively cover the frame in clingfilm before you powdercoat it :-)

strange

seems like a decent frame, highest bid so far £5.

it does seem like seller has no idea, BUT, go to the links provided...

Flickr page has lots of photos of bikes and bike parts

Ebay "seller's other items" include a ton of bike parts and 2 nice-looking fixies!

leaves me wondering, why so cheap?

Lots of positive feedback on ebay - anyone know seller?

call me a suspicious git...

well... if people think they might get a bargain they are more willing to bid on it... if you put the price up high from the start people might not want to bid because they think they're never going to win the auction...

Hey, a friend just pointed this thread out to me, thats my stuff being sold, nothing dodgy about it, just finished a couple of builds and now selling off all the left-overs, I've already thrown out a tone of stuff which in hindsight I should have kept especially as i had to re-buy a few bits. There's not much space in a house for unused frames etc.. with me having 3 bikes and between my flatmates, another 3.
