most probably, seems a bit fishy to drop the price £400 in a few months....

A very, very high price:
deep breaths now lads

Oh and Winston did you win this?
link

Because it takes 26 inch tubulars like these ones:

And another Holdsworth, just for good measure.
Luckily it is way, way, way too big for me, but still showing the original decals:
ubernice

yeah, were you watching?....have found the tubs requird on Continental German site, and they are also listed on Contis UK site as wheelchair tubs!....think I'll get some more modern wheels made up for general playing around on tarmac and grass and keep the wooden ones as a restoration project......a change of bars will make an excellent polo bike too....

I put a bid on it, but then went to bed. Got up this morning and saw who had won and guessed who it was.
Was looking at it as a polo bike too. A very good buy I think.

my max bid was 420...and I used esnipe

I used to work for a circus and have wanted one of these ever since (even though my tricks are crap) will use for intended purpose with polo as secondary option......I've never seen one on sale in UK before (though heard about another one on ebay a while ago) so well chuffed.

The specialist conti tubs are 25 quid and for indoor use...think those 19mm might be a bit fragile for messing about in the street.

I would've thought the indoor ones would be trouble on the roads, but the podiums are outdoor race tubs, pretty strong stuff.
If I'd've won, I'd have done the same though, polo wheels and special day wheels.

Theres a lot of love for Merckx frames, (especially this one - perhaps due to oval tubing?)
I think we have established that even tall people will pay $$$s
I won a beer! - That was fun.. :-)

The seller ought to be birched for giving money away. I'm sure it would have sold for more with clear photos and a better description. Did anyone else have a go? Crank? Kelvin?
